Gina is the mastermind behind the fashion-tabulous, poetic blog called, "Awed." Her photo album displays an array of original, creative collections which are sure to provide inspiration and motivation.
She ardently tests the boundaries of crochet with a conglomerate of updated generational styles, from early 1910's-esque high waistline, decorative boutique dresses to 1950's matching secretarial jacket and skirt combinations to modern reconstructed, abstract apparel. Interspliced amongst those are several designs featuring bold, afro-centric patterns. All of her designs showcase an attention to detail.
With a flaire for the unorthodox, Gina's styles are haute, haute, haute!

Sooooo many people at the Sweet Auburn Fest on this past Saturday....
I am soooo lad I am tall, about 6 feet so I could survey the swarms of people. It looked like a mile long of spectators, vendors. We were there about 1 1/2 hours--one of those spur-of-the moments thAngs. We headed on over there after rehearsal for the May 18th Rock the Runway event--send up dem loops for me!
And then after that, headed over to Club D'Jangos for a model mixer--stayed til about 2ish am....

This is one of those fun, spontaneous vids I asked some-1 to shoot for me w/o editing. I have a whole lot of energy & spunk and really just wanted to see what others see. I love my smile, laughter, joy and flowing out of myself so I can keep the shyness at bay--of course, NO ONE believes that I can be quiet & shy but I have those moments. I like being around sweet, endearing & passionate folks--sparks my own creative vibes and onlookers get a glimpse of unabashed, innocent humor and kookiness, which we all neeeeeed at times.
p.s. My children make fun of my laugh. They say they can hear me down the block. Will I change it? Hook no! It's crazy and I must admit I got the kookiness -- once I get going -- of a 20 year old, maybe even younger, wink.
And, yeah, I can and do put Da Hook down and at rest.

I got a new myspace friend--actually she has modeled for me for 2 shows in the past as well as my most recent one on Saturday. Her name is Tuwanna and my, my is she a ball of energy!!!

Whew, what a day & evening yesterday!! First off, my designs were in an urban/gospel play for the 6pm show. The 1pm show was cancelled. I met all the models rt before the show so had to, as I put it, "FLOW", i.e. go w/the flow. I had a nice response but it was so very hectic. Well, I definitely learned some new things from that particular event--it's all about growth. I did get myself interviewed for some tv program--hmm, by whom, I do not know. Since I didn't get a chance to be formally introduced as the designer for my wares -- but I believe people could figure out who I was by my own crochet clothing I was wearing nor had my information printed in their program -- I figure I'd go up to the camera person and let them know who I was. Gotta be bold at times. What, all they could say is "yes" or "no".
Afterwards heading over to the networking & after party event at D'Jangos and stayed til closing. Got home 5am...whew, rec'd wonderful compliments on my outfit. I just do me...
Great networking contacts--wow, I can't wait to see how this will materialize:
1. Victoria, CEO of Tears for Hope Foundation, sent me an email to attend that evening's event and left her phone no. Well, I called and we spoke for 30+ mins.

2. Aida, Urban Network Fridays, I ran into at the event. She's interested in my fashions. Actually I met her Friday night at my designer friend's fashion event in which I was modeling her bags. So, it was a pleasure running into her again last night.
